Don’t be a broke Pharmacist, be a Financially Free Pharmacist!

As of 2021, Americans have a collective debt of $14.96 trillion. This impressive amount typically consists of credit card debt, student loans, auto loans, home equity lines of credit (HELOCs), and home mortgages. When you break it down, that’s an average of $58,604 per US adult.

Most pharmacists, who come out of school with the likes of $173,561 in debt, might look at that figure and laugh.

Regardless of the amount, living with debt in the US has become the norm.

You’re told to invest in yourself through education, cars to get you to and from work, and a comfortable home to lay your head in at night. Then you pay on that investment every month, never entirely free from the financial chains of the past.

What if it didn’t have to be this way? What if living with debt wasn’t the norm?

You might think, ‘If achieving financial freedom was so easy, everyone would do it!’ That’s true. It isn’t as easy as waking up and deciding to become financially free and independent. There are many steps along the way. However, it is incorrect to believe this to be impossible.

Real estate investing has lifted millions of everyday Americans into financial freedom.

From your average Joe who invests in real estate syndications to real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran, real estate is a highly lucrative and accessible investing venue. In fact, many Americans choose it as their preferred method of investing.

Benefits of investing in real estate include:

  • Security
  • Passive income
  • High ROI
  • Protection against inflation
  • Tax deductions

As pharmacists ourselves, we know firsthand the struggles facing the pharmaceutical industry today. Big payers and PBM target our businesses and leave healthcare professionals overworked, overstressed, and underpaid.

But it doesn’t have to stay this way. There is a way for pharmacists to achieve financial freedom. Real estate can get you there, even with no experience.

How to invest in real estate?

One of the most popular things about real estate investing is that you can customize it to your liking. You don’t have to be a landlord or deal with the hassle of listing on Airbnb. Through real estate investing, you can invest in real estate on your time, terms, and budget.

For many pharmacists turned investors, who are busy enough as it is, the most time and budget-effective way to invest has been through real estate syndications.

What is real estate syndication?

Real estate syndications involve several investors pooling capital for investment property. This can be for residential or commercial properties that bring in monthly income to cover costs associated with the property and pay out the investors.

Syndications are a great entry point for novice and experienced investors because fewer risks are involved. As a limited partner, you can rely on the expertise of more experienced investors while still reaping the rewards.
